[He taps on the journal before gasping.] Oh, it is! Great! Um...hi there. I've been here for a couple days, but I just now got all settled in. Now I can finally introduce myself. Sorry for taking so long!

[There's a bit of tension in his voice. Even though he's been in Luceti for about a week, it's obvious that he's still a little shaken up from shock of being torn out of his own world. He can't help but worry.] I'm Jiro Kusano, but you can call me Roji! I'm from Earth, and I help manage a bureau for supernatural investigation with my boss back home. It's nice to meet you all.

Oh yeah! I wanted to ask something. Is it...is it true that stuff in the stores here is free? [His voice is much more excited now.] I went to buy some groceries and the clerk there said it was free! Er, I'm kind of a fan of cooking, but I don't get the chance to experiment with a lot of stuff because of my...situation back home. Being able to get supplies without trouble is amazing.

[As he's about to shut off the journal, he remembers the most important thing he wanted to bring up.] Actually, I have a request too. If anyone knows of someone named Toru Muhyo, could you let me know? I really hope he's here...

Supernatural investigation...I've never heard of that though it does sound quite interesting. That aside for the time being, yes, everything here in Luceti is free. There is no money here.

Basically, we investigate places where our clients suspect a ghost is lingering. We, well, Muhyo, then sentences that ghost accordingly.

[ You have him curious. ] Luceti is a bit odd like that. Takes a little while getting used to! Everything being free I mean a-and Luceti as a whole.

I have to admit, the hardest think to get used to for me is all the worlds that are represented here! Then there's the wings... [He laughs awkwardly at that. Oh, the troubles he's been having fitting his wings into his other clothes.]

[He'd offer to help using his actual occupation, but he wouldn't be very useful without his partner. He doesn't even know if Luceti has ghosts yet.]

If that's an offer to volunteer at the center, I won't say no...though there's no rush. This cycle's almost over and the next one won't be for a couple of months.

Oh, so there's a pattern for when New Feathers arrive? No wonder you guys are so organized.

It does help to know when to expect people! The pattern used to be once a month, but it's changed since then.

Is it usually the same amount of people every time?

No, it's not that predictable. The amount varies, and the places of origin vary as well. You never know who will arrive or from what time and place.

... Time? [That's the first time he's heard of time being a factor.]

That's right. People come here from different points in time as well as different worlds. So, even if someone you know from home arrives, they might not remember all that you do...or remember past that point.

[Roji dwells on that for a few moments. It actually frightens him a little bit. He'd hate for one of his friends to show up and not remember what they had gone through.

There's a hint of uneasiness in his voice.]

... I see.

...I know. It's weird to think about, but there's not anything we can do about it.
