Erm...is this thing recording? I didn't think making an actual post would be this hard...

[He taps on the journal before gasping.] Oh, it is! Great! Um...hi there. I've been here for a couple days, but I just now got all settled in. Now I can finally introduce myself. Sorry for taking so long!

[There's a bit of tension in his voice. Even though he's been in Luceti for about a week, it's obvious that he's still a little shaken up from shock of being torn out of his own world. He can't help but worry.] I'm Jiro Kusano, but you can call me Roji! I'm from Earth, and I help manage a bureau for supernatural investigation with my boss back home. It's nice to meet you all.

Oh yeah! I wanted to ask something. Is it...is it true that stuff in the stores here is free? [His voice is much more excited now.] I went to buy some groceries and the clerk there said it was free! Er, I'm kind of a fan of cooking, but I don't get the chance to experiment with a lot of stuff because of my...situation back home. Being able to get supplies without trouble is amazing.

[As he's about to shut off the journal, he remembers the most important thing he wanted to bring up.] Actually, I have a request too. If anyone knows of someone named Toru Muhyo, could you let me know? I really hope he's here...

[Roji certainly doesn't mind rambling about it. Normally he only explains when someone comes upon the bureau, but it's not here so...]

Basically, we investigate places where our clients suspect a ghost is lingering. We, well, Muhyo, then sentences that ghost accordingly.

[And she'll be very happy to listen to him ramble. Roji seems like an interesting kid to her]

I see. Are these ghosts seen as a threat to others? How are they sentenced?

Definitely a threat. Usually when we get clients, they're being attacked in one way or another. Sentencing is truly an amazing thing. Muhyo has a book of Magic Law, and when sentencing a ghost for a specific crime, he calls upon an envoy from the underworld to take it away. There's tons and tons of envoys for the various crimes!

[He then pauses for a moment.] Heh, sorry for getting to excited. Magic Law isn't widely believed in in my world, so not many people would even listen to a word of this.

[She listens to him, noting every word he says] "Magic Law"...

[Naoto lets out a slight chuckle] Don't apologize. Though I may not be from your world, I do find it fascinating. As a detective, I naturally take an interest into laws and crimes.

Oh wow, a detective! So I guess we're...sort of in the same business? [He laughs.] Except you probably deal with the living criminals, right?

I suppose you could put it that way, yes. [She pauses] I have dealt with my fair share of nonliving criminals. Though I don't know if you would classify them as 'ghosts'.

[Now Naoto's pinged Roji.] Then what would you call them?

We call them shadows. In a way they are similar to ghosts and yet they're much different at the same time.

They sure sound just as creepy, just by hearing the name.

They can be quite intimidating. [She won't mention their own personal shadows, she doesn't want to scare him]

Oh, I apologize, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Naoto Shirogane.

It's nice to meet you, Naoto. I gotta say, it sounds like you have a pretty eventful job too.

It's nice to meet you as well, Roji.

[She chuckles a little] It can be very eventful but I enjoy it. I assume the same is for you as well? You seem like you're fond of your job.

Heheh, yeah... I won't lie though, things can get very scary. It's hard to keep it together in the face of danger sometimes...

Yes, it can be difficult to keep yourself composed when facing danger.

It's okay though, 'cause if even though it may be scary, at least we'll know that we're helping someone.

[She really likes the way this kid thinks] That is true. [ ... ] How old are you, if I may ask?

I don't mind at all! I'm seventeen.

[Seventeen? And here she thought he was a little younger than that] I see, so you're a year older than me.

Wow, really? I...actually thought you were older than me. You sound so mature.

[He means that in a good way, of course. Naoto seems like a person to look up to, even though they've only just met.]

I do? [She flusters a little though she's used to hearing people say that] Uhm...Thank you, I guess.

[Beaming,] You're welcome.
