AU Event History + Changes
For the Trip To Another World event!
Roji visited Takashi Natsume (
returnthyname)'s world for the event, and now he is anchored to Takashi's world. Under the cut contains his new history for the canon Natsume's Book of Friends, and the changes that come with that new history.
Bio:
Like Takashi, Roji is able to see spirits. His spiritual power is quite impressive, but doesn't come close to Takashi's and Reiko's.
Roji was discovered as an infant and raised in the town that Takashi would eventually move to. As he was growing up, he realized that he could see things that others couldn't, and it did land him plenty of strange looks and comments when he reacted to those spirits. Usually his reactions were dismissed as him simply mistaking the "spirits" for something else, or as some kind of bad dream when he was awaken by them in the middle of the night. In school, he is known as the meek and easily frightful kid, and other students like to tease and attempt to scare him from it. He hasn't been able to fully embrace the fact that others can't understand what he's seeing, especially since he's downright terrified of the spirits and desperately wishes he didn't have to face them alone.
When Takashi transferred to his class, things changed. Roji heard the rumors about him, and even noticed his reactions to the same spirits that he was seeing. He wasted no time in confronting Takashi about it. Understandably, Takashi was a little skeptical, so it took Roji a little bit of convincing to prove that he could actually see the spirits too. But after that, they were able to truly talk about their ability.
Roji's eventual first run-in with the kind of spirits that often chase Takashi was something of a disaster, as the thought of being attacked by the spirits terrified him. He almost ran from the situation, but his desire to help Takashi was able to overcome his fear. From then on, Roji pledged to offer his help whenever Takashi wanted it.
And then Luceti happened.
Personality Changes:
Roji is more or less the same as he was before, personality-wise. He still has an interest in the supernatural, and a strong desire to help others. He also retains his nickname, as he came up with it himself in his original canon.
As for changes, he's more reserved than he used to be. He still talks to people, but he isn't as outgoing as he was before. He prefers to keep to himself when possible. He kept his job at the Welcome Center, but people who interact with him may notice a hint of discomfort in his body language.
His interest in magic will have waned as well. He can't use magic with his new history, so it'll be a topic he knows very little of now.
And of course, he no longer has any memories of his own world, so he won't be bringing up Muhyo like he tended to in the past. He won't have any of his usual belongings, such as his signature tie and Pen of Wards. They don't serve any purpose to him at this point.
Canon characters Roji would know:
Takashi is a given here. He may have met Nyanko-sensei while hanging out with Takashi back "home", and most likely heard Reiko's name in passing there as well. But since the cast has been in Luceti for a while, he would likely know them better than he did before, and will interact with them as such. He'd also be familiar with any classmates that he and Takashi shared back home.
